Kat began her adult life by graduating with her degree is Psychology, only to find out that was not what she loved to do. After some career shifts, she found herself falling in love with Brewing (yes, beer). The hard work paired with the long days only made the beer drinking all the more sweet! Only when she returned to the office did she realize she yearned for the brewery - making sauce is the next best thing!
Kevin joined the United States Marine Corps right out of high school. Once his time was done, he returned to civilian life and worked as a truck driver with a local store, which is where he met Kat! While still driving truck(s), he has recently moved into crane operation, rigging and signaling. He loves what he does but nothing beats a day of being a Hot Sauce Sous Chef!
Romeo, our COO and HR Manager, is one of many animal babies that Kat and Kevin share.
Romeo is 1 of 4 dogs, 4 cats, 1 ball python, 1 iguana and 1 sun conure.
Not to mention the countless chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys to help run this business (from outside the kitchen), keeping Kat and Kevin cool, calm, collected and cuddled on a hard day!
Our Story
"Sauces with 9 lives of flavor" is not only our company motto, but something we apply to everyday life.
As a 2 person team (who happen to be married) we always knew we loved hot sauce. I'm sure many of you have also been to Bass Pro or Pepper Palace in search of the next new sauce - we sure have.
After buying countless sauces that were good, we challenged ourselves to make the best sauce we could; sauces that were flavorful and unforgettable that also brought the heat.
Starting out, we made sauces for family, presenting our new creations as holiday gifts. This gesture grew into "Can you make me more, I'm out" and "Can you make some for my co-workers?" Without starting a business, we were running a business, if you know what I mean. We then decided to launch Kat's Sauces & Pickles to bring our passion to the masses.
